Toronto Private School with Summer Courses

Many private schools in the Toronto area offer a selection of their courses during the summer to allow students more flexibility when picking their classes and arranging their schedules. Aside from allowing a more flexible schedule – which often translates into reduced stress levels in students – there are many more benefits that come with taking summer courses. Advantages include:
  • The ability for your child to fast track their education
  • Earlier graduation
  • Smaller class sizes
  • Staying mentally sharp
  • Increasing your average grade percentage
These benefits are why the Toronto Prep School offers our students a substantial list of full-credit courses during the summer months.

Fast Track Education & Graduate Sooner

Summer courses give your child the opportunity to fast track their education by gaining credits during a term students usually have off. As summer courses are often more intensive, the summer term is significantly shorter than the fall, winter and spring terms.  Typically, the summer term begins in July and is completed before the end of August. So by the end of the summer, your child will have completed an entire course, gained full credit for their efforts and may be eligible to take higher-level courses in the fall. Come September, your son or daughter will be at least an entire credit ahead of the rest, bringing him or her that much closer to graduation.

Stay Sharp

Continuing classes throughout the summer will help keep your child's mind focused and sharp. It helps you child maintain a structured schedule and the routine of attending class on time, reviewing notes and meeting assignment deadlines.

Even Smaller Class Sizes for More Focused Attention

At the Toronto Prep School, our classes during the regular fall to spring semesters are much smaller compared to most other public and private schools in the GTA. With a better student-to-teacher ratio, your child is able to receive more of the teacher's time and attention. This is all the more true for our summer courses. Our summer classes require a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 15.

Increase Your Grade Average

Smaller class sizes and better student-to-teacher ratios reduce the challenges of tougher courses for your child. The end result is usually not only in a better grade but also a more confident student. Examples of courses most students in general tend to find difficult, which we have also offered as summer courses in the past, include:
  • Grade 9 Foundations of Mathematics
  • Grade 10 Principles of Mathematics
  • Grade 11 Functions and Applications
  • Grade 12 Advanced Functions
  • Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors
Don't let your child miss out on these benefits and opportunities. When considering a prep school in the greater Toronto area, be sure summer courses are offered. Be sure to visit the Toronto Prep School.
